The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced equality, diversity and inclusion specialist to play a key role leading and co-ordinating initiatives that strengthen and embed equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of University of the Arts London.
You will be working in an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team of nine, part of the People and Culture Department. Your responsibilities will include working with the EDI Lead and external facilitators to design, update, deliver and evaluate EDI training and development offerings.
Additional responsibilities will include coordinating and running a programme of Community calendar events across UAL to mark Black History Month, Disability History Month and LGBTQ+ History Month.
You will also help apply and implement actions for equality charter marks and accreditations and work with stakeholder groups including staff networks to develop and update EDI policies.
About you
We welcome applications from anyone who has EDI experience, whether paid or voluntary. Examples include previously working in an EDI role, running or significantly contributing to a staff network and developing EDI initiatives in a voluntary organisation.
Experience of working with equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, ideally within the Higher Education sector, is essential.
You will need knowledge and understanding of EDI issues and legislation, as well as experience of, or ability, to manage EDI events from start to finish.
You will also be able to suggest strategic and innovative solutions to further equality, diversity and inclusion in an organisation.
The ability to write and present project update reports and recommendations, incorporating data, is equally important.
