The opportunity
Are you passionate about fostering an equitable, inclusive and diverse College environment? If so, join our forward-thinking team at Central Saint Martins (CSM) as the College Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager.
The role is also aligned to the central EDI team under the leadership of the Head of EDI. Following a recent review of governance and structure the EDI team has grown and strengthened its committee structures to better deliver UAL's strategy and key projects like the Race Equality Charter Action Plan.
In this pivotal role, you will assist in implementing and monitoring action plans, including a College-level Race Equality Charter Action Plan, and support our EDI Committee and range of EDI Forums. You will work with colleagues across CSM and UAL to progress EDI activity in line with our staff charter and EDI policies. You'll work closely with various stakeholders, including the UAL EDI team, to ensure our initiatives are data-driven and impactful.
About you
We are looking for a proactive and experienced EDI professional with a strong background in leading EDI initiatives and managing complex projects using a data-driven approach.
You should possess a deep understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and relevant developments since, including positive action and equality impact assessments, and have experience working with both quantitative and qualitative data. A working knowledge of the Higher Education sector and charter marks related to EDI is desirable.
Your ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience, deliver training, and conduct consultations will be crucial. Additionally, you should be skilled in problem-solving, planning, and managing resources to achieve long-term objectives.
