The Role
We are seeking an experienced Windows or Apple Endpoint Manager to lead the management, security and ongoing development of the University’s endpoint services.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for our Windows and Apple engineering team, ensuring staff and student devices remain secure, reliable and fit to support learning, teaching, research and professional services.
Working across Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager and Jamf, you will oversee an estate of Windows, macOS, iOS and iPadOS devices. Reporting to the Head of Endpoint & Digital Support Systems, you will translate strategy into delivery, coordinate service improvements and support the continued evolution of our endpoint environment.
You will provide technical leadership and line management, establish cross-platform standards, and oversee endpoint security controls, including encryption, patching, anti-malware, configuration baselines and vulnerability management. Acting as the senior escalation point for complex incidents, you will coordinate teams to resolve issues and drive continual service improvement.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong expertise in either Microsoft or Apple endpoint management, supported by a good working knowledge of the other platform. You will be comfortable balancing technical delivery, leadership, service improvement and stakeholder engagement.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a specialist team and shape the digital experience of staff and students across a large and complex organisation through automation, standardisation and self-service solutions.
What You Will Bring
You will have substantial experience managing enterprise endpoint services, with expertise in:
Experience across both Microsoft and Apple environments, relevant technical certifications, ITIL, enterprise print management or higher education would be advantageous. Above all, we are looking for a strong endpoint professional with the ability to lead people and deliver secure, reliable services.
The role is permanent, based at our Swansea or Carmarthen campus, with flexibility for hybrid working and travel to other University locations as required.
Please refer to the job description for full details of the essential criteria.
If you are an experienced Windows or Apple endpoint specialist looking for the opportunity to lead a specialist team and influence enterprise endpoint services, we would be delighted to hear from you.
