About the Blavatnik School of Government
Our vision is of a world better led, a world better served and a world better governed. We are a global school committed to improving the quality of government and public policymaking worldwide, through three routes: teaching current and future leaders; generating research with impact; and engaging with governments and practitioners.
We are a collaborative, friendly, and dynamic department based in an award-winning building in Oxford. We host regular talks with well-known guest speakers. We have an events calendar designed to appeal to all, including our Christmas and summer parties. We care about our employees’ wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer. More information about working at the School can be found on our jobs page.
About the role
You will play a central role in supporting the Future Leader and Justice Innovator programmes, ensuring participants have a positive and well-coordinated experience from recruitment and induction through to programme completion. As the main point of contact for both cohorts, you will build strong relationships with participants, project leads and collaborators, coordinate regular engagement, mentoring and technical sessions, and create opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange.
You will oversee key aspects of programme administration, including applications, selection, recruitment and quality assurance, ensuring processes are accurate, consistent and aligned with University procedures. You will also support communications with external technology partners and the Clooney Foundation for Justice, helping to coordinate technical resources, mentoring, training and opportunities for participants to showcase their work.
Working closely with the Programme and Operations Manager and Institute colleagues, you will monitor engagement, evaluate programme impact and contribute to progress reports and briefings. You will use feedback and evidence to improve programme delivery, support operational decision-making and provide day-to-day guidance to junior colleagues involved in programme administration.
About you
You will hold an undergraduate degree in law, technology, human rights or a relevant field, or have equivalent experience. You will bring a strong track record in administration and operational management, alongside excellent organisational, people and programme management skills. You will have experience supporting communities or participant cohorts, with the ability to manage competing priorities across different programmes and build effective relationships with students, academics and external partners.
You will have excellent written communication skills, adapting your approach to different audiences, and strong attention to detail, particularly in recruitment and selection processes. You will demonstrate discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive or confidential matters, alongside an understanding of information sensitivity and data considerations when working with technology partners, including information relating to at-risk populations. You will be confident working independently, using your initiative and keeping managers and senior colleagues appropriately informed.
