An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Collections Relocation Project Co-ordinator to join the East Anglian Film Archive (EAFA) on the new 'Groundwork for Relocation’ project, delivered with the support of the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery funding.
As EAFA enters an exciting new chapter in its 50-year history, the archive will relocate from its current home at the Archive Centre in Norwich to the University of East Anglia campus, alongside other nationally significant collections. The project represents one of the largest film archive relocations undertaken in the UK sector and will help ensure the long-term preservation, accessibility and sustainability of the region’s moving image heritage.
You will lead and co-ordinate all aspects of the relocation of EAFA’s film, video and associated archival collections, ensuring that the move is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with professional archive and conservation standards. Working closely with the EAFA Management Team, University colleagues and external partners, you will develop and manage project plans, collections assessment and preparation workflows, packaging and logistics activity, risk management and stakeholder communications.
We are seeking an individual with experience of successfully managing complex projects within the cultural, heritage or education sectors, together with a strong understanding of archival collections care, particularly for film, video and media formats. You will have excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, experience of supervising staff and managing workflows to meet deadlines, and the ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities. Experience of collections moves, digital preservation workflows, collections standards, communications planning or archive, library and museum practice would be advantageous.
