Salary from £44,143 to £52,749 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £56,607 pa inclusive of London allowance

The London School of Economics is a cosmopolitan university situated in the vibrant centre of London that specialises in the study of social sciences. LSE’s DTS is seeking a Network Analyst to join the team that provides services to over 15,000 staff and student users.

The Network Analyst will support the operation, maintenance and development of network services and infrastructure across the School and halls of residence. This is a hands-on technical networking role. We are looking for someone who already has a solid grounding in networking and can apply that knowledge when diagnosing faults, carrying out network changes and supporting our staff and students.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Education to degree standard or equivalent in a relevant technical subject or relevant work experience
  • Practical experience installing, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting enterprise network switches and access layer connectivity in a production or comparable operational environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IPv4 and the TCP/IP suite, including TCP, UDP, subnetting, default gateways, routing principles, VLANs and common network troubleshooting methods.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills, with evidence of responding effectively and efficiently to incidents and requests while keeping users informed and improving their support experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to evaluate evidence, identify root causes and implement effective technical solutions.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to further develop their networking skills and experience while supporting, maintaining and enhancing LSE's large campus and halls network. They will be part of an experienced and supportive team. LSE supports flexible working, and this is a hybrid role. As the role includes hands-on work with network equipment and cabling, the successful candidate will be expected to work on site at least two days per week.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
