The Campus Life Officer is part of the Campus Life team, which is responsible for all matters related to student administration, enquiry and advice services. The team is part of the Student Life department, which serves to provide a comprehensive and effective service across the student journey, enabling individuals to realise their potential.
The post holder will focus on delivering high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG) to students on a wide range of issues affecting student life, supporting them throughout their university journey. The role provides specialist advice and support in areas including financial wellbeing, hardship funding, safeguarding, student conduct and misconduct, and concerns relating to bullying, harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct. Working with a diverse caseload, the post holder will manage welfare and misconduct cases, respond to concerns raised through the University's Report + Support platform, undertake risk assessments, coordinate support plans, administer financial support schemes, and act as a key point of contact for student enquiries. Through proactive intervention, advice and collaborative working, the role contributes to student engagement, retention and success while helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive university community.
We are seeking a candidate educated to NVQ Level 3/4 (or equivalent) with experience in advice, guidance, welfare support or casework, ideally within higher education or student services. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, and experience of managing sensitive information and maintaining accurate records using case management systems.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students, confident in handling complex and sensitive cases, and committed to ensuring every student feels safe, supported and empowered to succeed.
At the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), we’re committed to creating an inclusive community where every student and colleague feels respected, supported and able to belong. We celebrate the breadth of backgrounds, identities and lived experiences across our campuses and disciplines, and we recognise that creativity thrives when different perspectives are welcomed and valued. By promoting positive wellbeing and fair opportunities, we aim to remove barriers and enable everyone to flourish and reach their potential. We warmly encourage applications from people who are currently underrepresented in our workforce, and from anyone who shares our ambition to build a more equitable and inclusive UCA.
