We welcome applications from individuals interested in working in a small Enterprise Architecture team, supporting governance, standards and risk management.

The IT Architect is a key role in the Enterprise Architecture team within IT Services. IT Services provides critical professional services for the running of all IT at Royal Holloway: managing and optimising the infrastructure, running of the applications, managing commercial relationships and large contracts with software suppliers and integrating services into the corporate, learning, teaching and research environments of the College.

The IT Architect will have a broad role focusing on:

Solution Design and Risk Management

You will work with the Solution and Technical Architect to support solution design, from due diligence through to implementation and support. A significant part of your role will involve supporting work that is not yet included in the organisation’s planned programme of IT work, or that presents a risk to the organisation.

You will work with people leading change outside IT to define the IT work required. This collaboration will be a pivotal part of your role and will help the internal IT team deliver that work.

Standard Setting and Evaluation

You will work with the Solution and Technical Architect and Technical Service Owners to develop, maintain and enforce standards and patterns. These define the non-functional requirements: how solutions must operate, rather than the functions they provide. The outputs of this due diligence work will be recorded in our architecture repository, BizzDesign.

Architecture Enablement

You will ensure that the way the Architecture Board operates continues to evolve and meets its terms of reference, which define its remit and responsibilities. You will also ensure that its documents, inputs and outputs are recorded and tracked to completion.

For queries on the application process the Human Resources Department can be contacted by email at: recruitment@rhul.ac.uk

Previous applicants need not apply.
