King's College London - Admissions

Location: London, Hybrid
Salary: £39,755 to £44,685 per annum including London Weighting Allowance
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 6th November 2026
Closes: 15th November 2026

About the role

As a Senior Admissions Officer, you will line manage a team of Admissions Officers, providing leadership, support and direction to ensure the delivery of a professional, proactive and applicant-focused admissions service. You will be responsible for setting clear objectives, monitoring performance against service standards and key performance indicators, overseeing workload allocation, and supporting the development and wellbeing of team members.

You will act as a key point of contact for Admissions Officers and colleagues across the university, providing advice and guidance on complex admissions matters, non-standard qualifications and fee status assessments. You will support staff through coaching, training and knowledge sharing, helping to develop capability within the team and foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment.

As part of the wider Senior Admissions Officer team, you will contribute to the effective management of admissions processes ensuring applications are assessed consistently, fairly and in line with university policies and external regulatory requirements. You will use data and performance information to monitor progress, identify trends and support the delivery of admissions targets, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of systems, processes and ways of working.

The role requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across Admissions, Faculties and Professional Services. You will help resolve operational challenges, support the implementation of new initiatives and contribute to the successful delivery of key admissions priorities.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to develop or build on their leadership and line management experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The role offers valuable experience in people management, performance management, stakeholder engagement, operational leadership and data-informed decision making.

We welcome applications from candidates both within and outside the Higher Education sector who can demonstrate transferable experience in team leadership, customer service, administration or operational delivery, together with the skills and behaviours required to succeed in the role.

This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) offered on an indefinite contract. We currently operate a hybrid working model and ask team members to attend the office for a minimum of one day per week.
