An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering teaching team. Reporting to the Principal Teaching Fellow, you will translate your expertise and enthusiasm into motivational teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will instruct postgraduate laboratory demonstrators, supervise undergraduate students in practical sessions, and give tutorials and lectures. Excellent organisation and communication skills are a must.

Your duties will involve direct contributions to lectures, tutorials, practicals, coursework organisation, demonstration, assessment, and feedback, as and when appropriate. Specifically, the post holder is expected to take a leading role in teaching mathematics and numerical methods / computer programming.

You will have a good Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or another related discipline as well as a relevant qualification in higher education teaching and learning. Candidates with a PhD in Chemical Engineering or other relevant discipline would be preferred.

This is a teaching position with no research component other than education related scholarship. Please demonstrate that you meet essential role requirements in your job application.

This post is fixed term for 12 months and will be based on the South Kensington Campus.
