Information Specialist Assistant

For this role appointments are usually made at £23,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)

Full Time, 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Based in the National Guideline Centre’s (NGC’s) offices in London’s west end, you will be a member of the Centre’s Information specialist team working closely with the Centre’s guideline technical teams and liaising with the RCP Library.

Key Responsibilities:

  • providing an electronic and paper-based document supply service
  • working closely  with the RCP Library
  • managing references in reference management software
  • managing the Information specialists’ email box
  • maintaining an accurate record of document orders
  • assisting with literature searching

Skills and Experience:

  • educated to degree level or a relevant NVQ in library or information science or a CILIP certification is essential
  • strong IT skills
  • ability to work with a high level of attention to detail
  • excellent inter-personal skills
  • ability to interact professionally at all times
  • knowledge and experience of using software to organise or store information
  • ability to run a document supply service

Please be aware this is not a library-based role. Training for all aspects of the job will be provided.
