Research Support Officer

Salary: £28,936 per annum to £32,548 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS pension benefits, if required.

The School of Management is seeking to appoint a Research Support Officer who will work under the guidance of the Director of Research in developing and implementing the School’s Research Strategy with a particular responsibility for developments relating to Open Access, Researcher Development, Research Integrity and Research Data, as well as supporting the growth of the postgraduate research student community.

The post holder will work proactively with Sections, Research Staff and other relevant stakeholders and will also provide support to the Research Ethics Committee and its approvals sub-group/designated individuals and the Research Committee. It will also involve general support (as directed by the Director of Research) regarding research related activities to academic staff.

You will also work closely with the PGR administrator to grow the postgraduate research student community and align the School’s research policy with its PGR policy. You will be required to schedule research committee meetings, attend and take minutes and disseminate them in an appropriate and accessible format.

The successful candidate will have a postgraduate qualification, an understanding of research processes and policies experience of coordinating activities relating to research or similar in a Higher Education environment or similar context.  He/she will be able to demonstrate strong data analysis and reporting skills and will also have skills and experience relating to training and development.
