The Cambridge University Development and Alumni Relations Office is the alumni relations and fundraising arm of the University, responsible for raising major philanthropic gifts and building and sustaining lifelong links between Cambridge and its worldwide community of more than 300,000 alumni and supporters. With an outstanding track record of securing philanthropic income and overall responsibility for coordinating University-wide development campaigns, raising funds to support schools, faculties, departments and other central University institutions.

The Gift Services Administrator is one of five positions under the line management of the Gift Services and Settlement Manager and is responsible for the delivery of for the gift processing and gift reporting functions and is a member of the Finance and Gift Services and Settlement Team. 

Key duties of this post include

- Ensuring gifts are entered onto the Database and the Cambridge University Financial system (CUFS) accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring both systems reconcile with each other.

- Gift aid declarations are received and completed correctly and processing of gift aid claims accurately and timely.

- Releasing money received to University departments, Colleges and Associated Bodies in a timely and accurate manner.

- Monthly reporting of gifts received;

- Processing of the donations received by Cambridge in America for the University, Colleges and Associated Bodies on a monthly basis.

- Detailed analysis of donations received directly by University departments and ensuring that these are added to the Database to enable the detailed reporting on the philanthropic health of the University.

Applicants should be educated to a minimum of 'A' level in Maths and English, have excellent IT skills, especially Excel, Outlook and Databases. An understanding of and experience of using an accounting package is essential, preferably an Oracle based financial system. Working towards AAT or other accounting qualification desirable and experience or working in an accounting/finance team at this level.
