Data Assistant (Biorepository Management)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Data Assistant to join our team, based at the Transplant Centre, in the Churchill Hospital.

You will be responsible for undertaking and developing data-intense procedures for interaction with databases and large datasets that describe biobank sample repositories and patient demographic data. You will be working under the supervision of the Data Manager to learn current practices and develop new data management practices. This role provides an opportunity to develop practical experience in a number of aspects of data management, and would be suitable as a step towards a career in data analytics or information governance.

You will be trained in or have previous experience of working in data science and relational databases. Knowledge of computer programming with competence in the design of workflows for data analysis is essential for this post. This is a busy role requiring excellent organisational and time management skills. You will need to be a strong team player who is able to work cooperatively and independently with excellent communication skills. The ability to produce code in Python, Perl or R would be advantageous.

This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term until 24 March 2021 in the first instance. We would be willing to consider applications for part-time hours.
