Internship - Press Team Assistant

British Library

Full Time (36 hours per week over 5 days)
Fixed Term for 12 months

An exciting one-year internship opportunity to work within the Press Office, one of the busiest parts of the British Library, the national Library of the UK.  One day you could be responding to press and filming enquiries and another day you might be working at a press event or accompanying a film crew around the building.  You will also be required to manage the diaries and schedules of the heads of team.

We are looking for a proactive and keen self-starter who is interested in developing a career in press or public relations and would like to get on the first stage of the career ladder. Ideally you will have an interest or previous experience of working in press or PR either for a local newspaper, agency or in-house but also have plans to undertake your own learning to develop your career.  In return you will work in one of the world’s leading libraries, situated in the centre of the Knowledge Quarter in King’s Cross St Pancras and be part of the Library’s Living Knowledge strategy.
