Subject Support Librarian (ACE at Frenchay)

Library Services is seeking to appoint a Subject Support Librarian with a specific focus on the Faculty of Arts, Cultural industries and Education. 

This is a full time, permanent post, which is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time. 

The role involves direct support for students, staff and researchers in the Faculty. 

The role will include staffing the help desk and answering online enquiries. You will also support our Ask a Librarian instant chat service. Preparing and delivering inductions and information/academic skills sessions, sometimes to large groups of students, is an important part of the role. You would also be involved in the development and implementation of Technology Enhanced Learning, including input into subject and pedagogic design, as well as active creation of the content, in liaison with relevant senior staff. 

You will have: 

• Professional qualification, or working towards a professional qualification, in a library/information related subject, e.g. CILIP or equivalent. (For those working towards a professional qualification, the expectation is that this is awarded within the probation period/approx. 6 months of starting in post). 
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development, such as working towards: Chartered membership of CILIP, a management qualification or a teaching qualification 
• Experience of working in a library/information environment. 
• Experience of providing teaching/training to groups of students and/or staff. 
• Excellent IT skills with experience of email, MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel and able to manipulate data to produce reports.

This post is based at our Frenchay campus Library where we are continuing to invest in the latest facilities and resources to give our students access to everything they need to succeed. You will also be required to work at our City Campus Library, at times where team colleagues are also based.
