Research Development Manager

University of Reading - Research and Enterprise Services

Joining our Research Development team, you will work closely with a research theme and its divisions to proactively help our drive to significantly increase research income.

Working within the Environment theme, you will provide information on research funding and work closely with researchers to assist in the development of ideas and their translation into soundly prepared, high quality research applications.

You will have:

  • A degree with either a PhD or relevant experience in research administration or with a funding agency.
  • An awareness of or direct experience of writing grant applications or research proposals.
  • A good awareness of UK and other research funding sources.
  • Pro-activity with excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines and to simultaneously progress a number of projects.
  • The ability to work with individuals at all levels will be a forward- thinking and highly-skilled team player.
  • The ability to show strong empathy with an academic environment and experience working in a research administration environment would be an advantage.
