Aramco Overseas Company UK Ltd. - Professional Development Unit

Aramco supports its employee's professional development through providing educational opportunities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Every year Aramco sponsors students to attend top international universities to pursue higher level academic studies and training programs in various disciplines.

The Professional Development Unit at Aramco Overseas ensures the quality and caliber of Aramco’s current and future workforce (best in class talent) to support the company’s business objectives. Our role is to maintain relationships and collaborate with universities and educational institutes in the UK and across Europe. We also provide high quality support services and academic guidance to sponsored students to ensure successful completion of their academic studies and training programs.

Academic Advice

  • Manage, motivate and evaluate progression of professional and personal development of Saudi Aramco sponsored graduates and undergraduates studying in the UK and Europe from Foundation Year to Graduation
  • Develop and maintain information regarding academic courses and programs in order to ensure that they align with company requirements
  • Establish strong collaborative partnerships with institutions of further and higher education in line with the company needs
  • Conduct regular campus visits to students and university officials, which require overnight and/or international travel
  • Effectively manage student information (contact details, grades, etc.) on in-house system
  • Provide regular reports on the performance of company sponsored students and developments
  • Keep up to date with professional and academic developments

University/Internship Placement

  • Coordinate with European Companies on allocation and placement of students for European Company Assignments
  • Coordinate with UK companies for trainees placement during the summer break
  • Coordinate registration and placement for all training courses and programs, and coordinate contract administration
  • Identify potential development program
  • Conduct orientation for new students
  • Provide colleagues in Placement Team with course and university recommendations
  • Conduct visits and follow-up meetings with universities
  • Work with colleagues in Saudi Arabia to arrange successful placement of newly sponsored students to education institutions in the UK and Europe

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate sensitive issues tactfully
  • Confidentiality
  • Experience of working with international students and being culturally aware
  • Preference for current experience working in a university or higher education setting
  • Related work experience and in depth understanding of the UK/European undergraduate and postgraduate education systems.
