Innovation Funding Development Officer

The Department of Research, Business and Innovation have a 2 year - fixed term, position in their busy team.

You will ensure successful, funder-compliant delivery of the University’s European-funded Innovation Enterprise Programme (IEP), which provides research and development grant funding to innovative SMEs across the West of England, as well as ‘pre-incubation’ support to graduate start-up enterprises

You will achieve the above by visiting, guiding, advising and monitoring businesses in receipt of grants, by linking them with academics, students and graduates, and by developing risk management, funder reporting and general administrative processes. With regard to the graduate enterprises, you will develop and implement a broad range of administrative and organisational tasks that support the attainment, recording and reporting of project targets/outcomes.

In addition you will be responsible for the provision of specialist advice and support to businesses in receipt of innovation and research funding (including high value monetary grants) issued by the University. It will be necessary to undertake monitoring visits to these businesses, in order to assess and analyse performance and identify issues relating to their funded innovation projects. You will use specialist knowledge and expertise to identify and resolve project issues, and to develop/maintain a business risk register, referring issues to senior staff where appropriate.
