Desktop Support Coordinator

Fixed term contract until 31.1.19


Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £26,495 to £28,936. With potential progression once in post to £32,548 a year.

The post holder will play a key role in managing and providing desktop IT support services to the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. Covering the schools of Psychology, Sports and Exercise, Biosciences as well Geography and Earth Sciences the post holder will lead a team of desktop support staff to work on general and specialised across all these areas. The post holder will work closely with the College IT Manager, ensuring that IT services are delivered in an efficient, effective and consistent way. The post holder will lead on service improvement within the team, developing new ways of working.

The post holder will undertake the day to day management of the front office desktop support team with the College IT team. This includes both line management of staff and management of workload within the team. The post holder will allocate resource to a variety of tasks and priorities, work on projects, and be a primary escalation point for staff with complex incidents to resolve. The post holder will form part of the departments senior IT Managers group steering the department dependant on the needs of the college.
