Finance Systems Support Officer

As part of our busy Finance team, you will ensure that key systems and application support is provided on a day-to-day basis to the members of staff who use the Agresso finance application and various other software products.

As Finance Systems Support Officer you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to support of the finance system (Agresso).
  • Provide user training to both new and existing users of Agresso.
  • Provide assistance on major development projects within the Finance Systems Team
  • Undertake a review of current business processes and make recommendations for improvements.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • A level or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office - including Excel, Word, Outlook and working with the web.
  • The ability to adopt an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience of working as a helpdesk operator (or other customer support role)
  • Excellent organisational skills with a methodical approach to work, using your own initiative to manage multiple projects and determine relative priorities to meet deadlines.

The Finance Department aims to provide, in a cost efficient, professional and timely manner, services that allow the University to meet its statutory financial obligations and internal financial management objectives.

Its main focus is to provide the University as a whole (represented by its Governing Body, Council) and individuals holding budget responsibility with financial services and advice. This includes the payment of bills and salaries and collection of monies owed to the University.

The Department is also required to ensure that the University operates its affairs within the various external financial and tax regulations and ensure that the University’s financial records satisfy external audit.
