Educational Technologist

Applications are invited for the post of Educational Technologist, within the Undergraduate Section of the Education Division of the Office of the School of Clinical Medicine. The post is based at the Clinical School, on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Senior Educational Technologist and the Education Technology team to oversee the eLearning provision within the Clinical School and to help the Senior Education Technologist to manage the Education Technology team to support that aim. This post will also provide cover for the Senior Educational Technologist in the running of the Education Technology team, as well as attending and reporting to committee meetings when the Senior Educational Technologist is unavailable.

The successful candidate should have a degree, experience managing a small team and strong customer service skills. They should also have experience managing and administering a Virtual Learning Environment (preferably Moodle) and working with other Educational Technologies (such as ePortfolios and Virtual Classrooms). They should also have a good understanding of learning styles and pedagogical processes.

They will have an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and students throughout the University and within the NHS (both locally and regionally), working with a wide range of professions and personalities. They will also need to be able to work effectively on their own as well as leading a small team. They will be able to rapidly assimilate new information and knowledge, and to become proficient users of specialty or in-house IT systems as well as reporting to the Clinical School management teams, where required.
