This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join IT Services at the University of Leeds, a leading Russell Group institution. The role is within the Network team who are responsible for the core0 data network infrastructure, predominantly at the main campus in Leeds as well as some remote locations. The core network infrastructure is crucial in supporting the teaching, research, business and community activities of the University.
You will have extensive experience of supporting and managing all aspects of core infrastructure at a campus network scale. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the development, support and maintenance of wired and wireless technologies and the move to Azure Cloud Services and Zero Trust networking. You will engage with suppliers, customers and stakeholders of network data and voice infrastructure, providing technical evaluation and input to ensuring the best value for the University. You will be part of the team delivering the future transformation of network infrastructure, enabling the University to deliver its digital strategy.
You will have developed in depth knowledge of networking infrastructure, being able to provide 2nd and 3rd line support, primarily acting as a point of technical escalation for colleagues in the team. You will have knowledge of the delivery and support of software defined networking within Campus and Data Centre environments.
You will contribute to projects and project planning, providing advice and guidance at a technical level by presenting information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
