We are looking for a Clinical Trial Manager to join the Experimental Medicine and Rheumatology (EMR) trials groups within the UKCRC accredited Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) based in the Botnar Research Centre, Headington, Oxford.
 
Following a successful funding application to the NIHR, the Experimental Medicine and Rheumatology (EMR) trials group are seeking a Clinical Trial Manager to take day to day responsibility for the management of clinical trials within their portfolio. The EMR trials group manages a wide variety of trials, in a variety of conditions spanning rheumatology and musculoskeletal conditions, experimental medicine and COVID-19, from set up to archiving. All trials are run as part of the UKCRC registered Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU), which is one of the largest CTUs in the UK.
 
You will be a key member of our friendly team ensuring the trial is efficiently planned and runs to time and target and in compliance with the relevant regulations and OCTRU SOPs. You will assist in finalising the protocol and other documents required for trial wide approvals; prepare and update trial documentation such as training material for collaborating sites, trial manuals and trial specific instructions as well as input to other key trials documents, including progress and final reports, and publications. You will work to design case report forms and associated documentation in collaboration with the trial statistician and Chief Investigator then work with the trial programmer to facilitate the set-up and testing of the trial database systems for randomisation, data capture and report generation. The post holder may also line manage junior staff members.
 
You will be educated to degree level in a biomedical or associated subject with familiarity of UK clinical research structures, regulatory and ethical systems. You will have proven experience of the day-to-day management of clinical trials, to a high standard of Good Clinical Practice. Proven administrative, communication and project management skills are essential. Experience of managing a multi-centre clinical trial in an academic setting is desirable.
 
The post is a full-time, fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. Part-time (minimum 80% over 4 days) will be considered. This is an office-based role however a mixture of office and remote working can be agreed.
 
A lower grade offer may be made (Grade 6: £32,332 - £38,205 p.a.) with commensurate reduction in responsibilities (and amendment in job title to Trainee Clinical Trial Manager if a suitable candidate cannot be found to fill the Grade 7 position.
