Annual Leave: 35 days (pro-rata) plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and dynamic Occupational Therapy team within the School of Health and Social Work. Successful candidates will play an essential role in the delivery of our new Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship programme which has recently had its first cohort of qualifying occupational therapists.

Main duties and responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced occupational therapist, who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. You will be responsible for the teaching, support, and assessment of apprentices at the University or on placement. You will utilise current evidence-base to underpin teaching and learning activities. You may participate in development and reviews of programmes including inter-professional developments across the School, and contribute to undergraduate curriculum developments; including development, delivery and teaching of modules within the programme.

Skills and Experience

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with recent academic and/or practice experience and knowledge of the UK system. You’ll have a breadth of relevant experience in occupational therapy practice in either physical and/or mental health. You will have a keen interest in in pre-registration education within occupational therapy and an awareness of degree apprenticeships for the profession.

Your application will demonstrate a sustained interest and knowledge of contemporary Occupational Therapy practice. It is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient in the English language. You will demonstrate a willingness to undertake Occupational Therapy research and are able to work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications required

The successful applicant will hold an honours degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent), and have completed or be close to completing a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have substantial relevant professional experience.
