Work placement, work-based learning and employability are increasingly important priorities for the School of Humanities. As a result, the school is seeking to recruit a Placements and Employability Manager to support the significant growth in this requirement both within the Department of Law and the wider School of Humanities.
This is an exciting time to join School of Humanities, where both Law and other courses continue to experience growth. All departments and courses in the school of Humanities have work placement modules and work-based learning in mandatory modules and we are building a strong portfolio of employers, which further support student recruitment to placements. Every student studying courses in Humanities is encouraged to consider a placement. The Placements and Employability Manager will play a core role in ensuring that these developments are well-supported, while ensuring a high quality the student-facing support service for employability.
The post holder will take responsibility for co-ordinating employability work across the school, in liaison with work placement module tutors and academic Careers and Employability tutors within departments, ensuring effective recruitment to work placements and an extended network of placement providers. The post holder will have excellent organisation and relationship management skills to ensure an outstanding experience for all stakeholders. This will include working closely with students, employers and colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and joined-up approach.
