The role

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who has a proven track record of delivering exceptional clinical care within a Primary Care setting. Your proficiency in providing comprehensive healthcare services will be essential to ensuring the well-being of our diverse student population. Previous experience or knowledge relevant to working with the student age group will be an added advantage but is not essential.

We are a close and friendly primary care practice team that includes; GPs, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists and other allied professionals at an award winning university health service. Situated within a purpose built practice in a beautiful setting.

We would encourage a visit to the practice to meet the team prior to application.

What will you be doing?

  • The clinical role involves assessment, diagnosis, decision making, and issuing prescriptions as required, both over the telephone and face to face through booked appointments.
  • You will undertake assessment of minor illness and injury, chronic disease management, wound care, immunisations, sexual health and contraception.
  • You will act as an independent nurse practitioner, with support from our GPs and multi-disciplinary team. You will demonstrate a high level of practice and knowledge whilst participating in direct evidence-based patient care. 

You should apply if

  • You are enthusiastic about working with young people and work well within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • You have a non-medical prescribing qualification and experience of working in primary care.
  • Experience of working in a university or similar type of setting would be desired but not essential.

Additional information

  • Working pattern- full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time hours considered. Our days are usually 9am-5pm.
  • Occasional working on a Saturday or weekday evening, and some cover of university closure days is also required (time in lieu given).
  • Salary range- £41,732 (£22.93 per hour) to £46,974 (£25.81 per hour) based on 35 hours per week- depending on experience.
  • Clinical registration fees (NMC) reimbursed.
  • MDU (Medical Defence Union) fees reimbursed.
  • Additional courses and study days costs are covered. There will be opportunities for further training and professional development, tailored to individual and practice needs.
