Research Fellow

Fixed term for 7 months

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,799 to £38,832. With potential progression once in post to £41,212 a year.

Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow to work on two research projects funded by WADA and IOC, with a group of researchers, who have international reputation for research excellence in sport psychology, at one of the most prestigious Sport Science Schools in the world.

The successful candidate will have a BSc or MSc degree in Sport Science or Psychology, a PhD in Sport Psychology or highly related field, a solid knowledge of social psychology of sport, and research interests in anti-doping and morality in sport. He or she will have excellent interpersonal skills, high level of organisational skills, a track record of successfully recruiting sport participants, willingness to travel to sport clubs for data collection, and ability to work as part of a team and successfully manage and coordinate research projects.

We are looking for someone with excellent oral and written communication skills, high analytical skills, experience in conducting academic research, and a track record of publishing high quality research in peer-reviewed journals. The appointed person will also have strong quantitative skills, and will be willing to engage in impact activities, and make contributions to teaching in the School. Experience and expertise in qualitative research will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, with a strong desire for career development and will display high ethical standards in conducting research and interacting with others. She/he will be expected to work independently and take a leading role on assigned projects, but will receive training where required and will show willingness to learn new skills as required. Experience of knowledge dissemination at scientific conferences will be an advantage.
