North Wales Centre for Primary Care Research (Wrexham Campus)

Applications are invited for the above post working in the North Wales Centre for Primary Care Research, based at Bangor University’s Wrexham Campus in Northeast Wales. The Centre’s main research interests are the timely diagnosis of cancer, cancer survivorship, palliative care, and rehabilitation for people with long-term conditions.
The Hip Fracture in the Elderly Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation - Phase III (FEMuR III) trial is a multi-site randomised controlled trial of an enhanced rehabilitation program following hip fracture, funded by the NIHR HTA Programme.
The post-holder will assist in the set-up and day-to-day conduct of the trial in North Wales, and will be responsible for participant recruitment and data collection. They will project an enthusiastic, positive and professional image and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to demonstrate initiative and persistence when faced with obstacles and challenges. They will be results driven and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. The post holder will be able to deal sensitively with vulnerable patients and/or carers and work effectively with public contributors.
The successful candidate will have a good first degree (upper second or better) or equivalent in a relevant topic (e.g. health services, biomedical science, psychology).
The successful candidate will be expected to commence 1 January, 2019 and the post is available for a period of 37 months.
