The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. 

We are looking for an experienced application analyst developer for the support and development of key services. The post holder will provide specialist technical knowledge in creating, supporting and maintaining a wide range of applications that are critical to the University.

The Role: To work closely with IT managers and decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions.

To ensure they maintain currency with respect to appropriate cloud and systems technology changes, advances and IT Trends.

Responsible for contributing to the teams overall objectives that improves the efficiency of employees, stimulate positive vibes, team work and creativity.

Responsible for ensuring tickets are responded to within SLAs and coming up with ideas to reduce the amount of tickets that come into the service desk.

Responsible for carrying out upgrades on key systems.

Participate in projects where possible and facilitate service transition of new services or infrastructure to operations teams.

Review/agree appropriate operational procedures, documentation, management guides and monitoring. 

Develop relationships with key stakeholders to understand their business objectives and service performance requirements.

Key requirements: Able to work on your own or as part of a team. Ability to take responsibility for work packages and deliver them on time and on budget. Demonstrates strong analytical and problems solving skills. Able to think and act in commercially viable scenarios for the benefit of the business.

Communicate effective and persuasively. Able to listen and gather salient information to make effective decisions quickly. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills. Very organised person with good time management, planning and co-ordination skills. 

Suitable experience in an IT support function or IT development role. Adaptable to new technologies, keen eye for detail and wide-ranging experience in the implementation, customisation and/or support of modern MS Windows based systems and processes.

SQL

PHP or Java

HTML

CSS Experience of working with external suppliers
