The role

We are seeking a self-motivated Maintenance Fitter to undertake planned and unplanned maintenance activities in the University's academic buildings, residences, and sports facilities. This role will undertake both planned and reactive maintenance and repair tasks across the range of mechanical building services, plant and equipment throughout the University estate.

The ideal candidate 

  • Must have served a recognised City & Guilds or NVQ3 apprenticeship in maintenance fitting, HVAC Engineering Maintenance or an appropriate related engineering discipline 
  • Must have relevant technical experience in larger buildings or commercial facilities
  • Will ideally have a PHMES CSCS “Gold” card qualification standard
  • Good problem solving, customer service and communication skills are a prerequisite of the post
