The Department of Exercise Sciences (ES) is committed to continuing to develop their world class research environment, grow funding and deliver innovative and exemplar teaching and learning programmes.

The conclusion of Associate Professor Greg Anson's current term as Head of Department in 2020 provides a rare opportunity for a full (or associate) professor with relevant research profile complementing or aligning to one of the above areas, to join the University in a substantive academic role, with a five year term as Head of Department.
Located at the University’s Newmarket campus, with dedicated research facilities and world-class infrastructure, the opportunity to further enhance research and teaching opportunities is genuine and significant. The Department’s combined academic and clinical expertise is further demonstrated through its hosting of the Health and Rehabilitation Clinic, the Movement Neuroscience Lab, Clinical Exercise Physiology assessment and research labs; Biomechanics lab; Neurometabolism Lab; Exercise Physiology and Exercise Biochemistry Labs.
With 27 academic and professional staff, supporting over 50 research students, 250 undergraduate and coursework students, the Department is performing well, with aspirations to grow further.
