The Research Operations Office, is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the team. This is an administrative role providing support for departments in the management of their research grants.
The University's research projects generate annual income of over £400m per annum. Our team is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance and for financially administering external research funding, on behalf of academics and Departments within the University's Schools.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in the area of research administration.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1.Providing procedural and financial advice and guidance to academic and departmental staff on a range of financial administration matters.
2.Setting up and monitoring research grant budgets against expenditure
You will be able to demonstrate excellent numeracy, communications and organisational skills and a positive,customer oriented approach.
Our teams work in a busy office environment, so you must be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines. Proficiency in using Windows based packages is essential, and knowledge of Oracle Financials would be advantageous.
We have a number of roles available as follows, if you have a preference for a particular role then please ensure this is covered within the suitability for role section:
Full Time permanent vacancies x 2, within our Physical Sciences Team and Clinical School Team.
Part Time (0.5 FTE) fixed term position within our Biological Sciences Team, fixed tenure for 1 year.
Full time, fixed term/internal secondment based within our Technology team, fixed tenure until 14th June 2020 or return of the current post holdFull Time, fixed term position based within our Clinical School Team, fixed tenure until 31/03/2022.
Positions within our Clinical School are based at: Clifford Allbutt Building, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Hills Road, Cambridge.
All other positions will be based at: Greenwich House, Madingley Rise, Cambridge.
