We are looking to recruit a Development Officer to join the friendly and successful team supporting major gift fundraising in the MPLS Division. This is an exciting opportunity to assist with fundraising in departments where world leading science and technology is being developed, including AI research, quantum computing, climate science, food security and vaccine innovation. You will be an integral part of an established team, with an excellent track record of delivering against challenging targets.
You will be responsible for a wide range of existing and potential supporters (individuals, corporate partners and foundations) securing support for the wide range of projects seeking funding across the Division. You will carry out prospect research, as well as managing the gift process, liaising with academics and professional teams, building and maintaining relationships with prospects and donors and ensuring that internal protocols across the University are observed. You will support the senior fundraisers in the team and be a key contact point internally and externally.
You will have excellent skills as set out in the job specification, in particular the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and have a meticulous eye for detail. Essential to the role is enthusiasm about the research and teaching across the Division and a willingness to work as part of a team. You will be motivated to develop your skills as a fundraiser and will be supported by the team in MPLS and the wider Development Office.
