The Department of Land Economy wishes to appoint a 0.2 Research Associate for up to 12 months to work on an animal welfare project funded by the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The starting date for the position is 1 October 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The appointed person will participate in research in the Department of Land Economy and contribute to the organization of research and dissemination activities. The tasks of the role holder will include undertaking research administration, collecting data, analysing data. The project is directed by Dr Shaun Larcom.
The post holder will be expected to have a PhD in Economics or a similar subject and proven skills relating to; the collection, collation and management of data; econometric analysis and use of Stata; ability to produce well written reports and articles; and survey skills.
This fixed-term 0.2 full time equivalent appointment is for 12 months from 1 October 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary will be at Research Associate Grade 7 (£32,236-£39,609) on the University scale. At the 0.2 weighting this equates to £6,447 to £7922 per annum. Appointment as Research Associate is dependent on having a Ph.D. (or equivalent experience). Where a Ph.D. has been submitted but has yet to be awarded appointment will initially be made at Research Assistant and amended to Research Associate upon the award of Ph.D.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 6 months in the first instance, most likely increased to 12 months.
