Student Experience and Support is responsible for the non-academic aspects of being a student at Salford and includes the Student Experience and Engagement team which is responsible for the University’s success and mentoring activity both within the University and in liaison with external providers and organisations.
The Student Experience and Engagement Team works with students, local colleges, businesses, schools, voluntary organisations and public agencies and alongside the University’s schools and other professional services, to make sure every student gets the support, information and encouragement they need to fully engage with the University community and be successful beyond that.
To staff the Student Experience and Engagement Team we need people with enthusiasm, technical skills and a commitment to delivering student and community benefits. We need people who are full of ideas and have the confidence to implement them, who are able to work in a team and work independently with equal ease.
You’ll be involved in the team’s activities with key responsibilities regarding the development, management and monitoring of success and mentoring opportunities through university, colleges, schools and voluntary organisations. To deliver an excellent service, it will be vital to understand our students, residents and partners’ ambitions and to evaluate the impact of our work
To fill this role, you’ll be enthusiastic about student engagement, success and mentoring. You’ll be a great communicator and listener, and enjoy working with people. You’ll be able to make decisions and work independently when required. You’ll obviously be committed to the highest quality of customer service, and you’ll be able to demonstrate an understanding of, and empathy to the needs of a large, diverse and international student community.
You’ll be expected to work in any of the sites across the University, and may be required to take part in evening or weekend work.
