The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to appoint a full time Human Testing Technician for a fixed-term period of approximately 15 months.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious researcher to work as a Human Testing Technician on the research project “The Evolution of Linguistic Complexity”, funded by the European Research Council and led by Prof Kenny Smith. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of experimental materials, recruiting participants and running experiments.
This position requires someone with an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Linguistics or a neighbouring discipline, the ability to set up and run experiments, experience of data collection with adults, good organisational skills, and the ability to work flexibly depending on the availability of volunteer participants. The post will be based in the school.
The post is available from the 1st June 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter, and will cover a fixed term duration of approximately 15 months (depending to start date).
