We have an immediate opening for a Research Associate/Research Scientist in the Quantitative Systems Toxicology & Safety (QSTS) team. Working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will have a key role in the design, development and application of computer models of drug safety and toxicology to support the discovery and development of new medicines. This is an innovative approach which has the potential to significantly impact medical research and effect a paradigm shift in the way that new medicines are developed. You will work alongside colleagues with expertise in drug discovery and development, drug safety/toxicology, drug metabolism, engineering, mathematics and computer science. Training will be provided as required in the use of our established products including the industry leading Simcyp simulator for Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling to aid you in the mission of developing new tools for drug safety.
The successful candidate will have familiarity with the principles of mathematical modelling, literature searching, data collation and analysis. You will be motivated by innovation whilst being highly diligent with an ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to check and critique the work of other scientists is also an important requirement for this position. The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary research team, providing opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. The post does not involve laboratory or clinical work. We offer a unique and exciting mix of academic and commercial environments which encourage regular attendance and presentation at scientific conferences as part of our continuous education programmes.
