Basic Function:
The Pig Development Department at Teagasc, Moorepark was awarded funding from Enterprise Ireland (EI) to develop a probiotic for pigs in collaboration with Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT). Arising from this funding, this position is now available. The candidate will work on the Teagasc tasks in the project, which involve exploring mechanisms of action of a Bacillus probiotic supplement for pigs. The selected candidate will be involved in laboratory and bioinformatic work, both at Moorepark and WIT, dissemination of findings and reporting to EI.
The Teagasc post-doctoral programme provides training and development opportunities for early career scientists that enhances their experience of learning and equips them with the necessary skills for the next stage of their chosen career in research.
