The School of Education and English (EdEn) is a dynamic, growing team at UNNC.  We have brought together the faculty's expertise in both of these important areas, as well as in Translation and Interpreting.  EdEn is a diverse group of dedicated academics working in a number of key areas which engage with the local context in China as well as with colleagues across this campus and our campuses in the UK and Malaysia.  We pride ourselves in providing a collaborative environment in which we engage in excellent teaching and research, and we hope to bring in new colleagues to share in this ethos.

The primary purpose of this role will be to undertake teaching and provide advice as a member of a teaching team within the undergraduate programmes in English, focusing on the areas of Literature, Literary Linguistics, Drama, or the applications of these areas to English Language Teaching. The post holder will also help to develop new course proposals and may contribute to curriculum development in the School.

The Role holder will have specific responsibility for identifying the learning needs of students and ensure that the content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet the defined learning objectives of our courses in English Language and Literature and English Applied Linguistics.

The role holder will also be involved in the development of new teaching and assessment practices and/or developing systematic methods for evaluating and disseminating these practices within the Faculty/School, and will also be offered opportunities to develop research.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 322,198 to RMB 440,485 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including first arrival allowance, employment support allowance and international insurance will be provided for international appointments to support living and moving to Ningbo.

This post is available from September 2021 and will initially be offered on a 3 year fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. This contract may be extended on by mutual agreement.
