Job description

King’s Business School (KBS) is still a relatively new School within the long-established and revered institution of King’s College London. We pride ourselves on a culture which draws on the history and high expectations of the College whilst also being forward looking regarding local and global opportunities and having a willingness to embrace innovations and pilot new ideas.  

The Assistant TEL Officer will work collaboratively to support the Digital Education team and KBS community in the implementation of King's Education Strategy, the KBS Flexible Delivery Plan and other TEL-related activities. 

We are looking for someone with a strong customer service, administration and technical support skills. The ideal candidate would have great communication and organisation skills and a willingness to develop into a more senior TEL role

The role reports to the Digital Education Manager in King’s Business School and will be part of the School’s Digital Education Team.

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.

This is a full-time post.

Key responsibilities

  • To assist Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) Officers to support the implementation of King's Education Strategy & King’s Business School (KBS) Flexible Delivery Plan.
  • To provide administrative support to Digital Education team members (triaging support requests, audits, testing).
  • Supporting the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the effective use of learning technologies.
  • Assist with the development and production of learning materials, including multimedia (video, audio, etc.)
  • Responsible for assisting and supporting the KBS TEL team, online and campus programme teams with TEL-related activities.
  • To provide advice and guidance on the best use of Moodle VLE/LMS to support e-learning activities.
  • To assist with developing and delivering CPD materials for staff, such as workshops and ad-hoc support in effective TEL practices.
  • To work effectively with academic and professional services colleagues across the College to ensure clear communications and drive improvements.
  • To participate in quality assurance activities, in line with quality processes.
  • To draw upon and contribute to the development of understanding and practice in the field of learning technology through engagement with discussions (formal and informal), conferences, workshops, research and other events at a national or international level.
