Wolfson College, University of Oxford, wishes to appoint a Housekeeping Manager to run the College’s Housekeeping Department.
Wolfson College is a great place to work. Founded as a graduate college in 1966, it is one of Oxford University’s largest and most international colleges, with an open, inclusive and responsive ethos. Wolfson is home to over 800 students from 75 countries, nearly 300 fellows and almost 100 postdocs. The College is located on the banks for the Cherwell in north Oxford, with a campus of Grade 2 listed buildings and open parkland.
The Housekeeping Department provides a full cleaning service to our residential rooms, offices, meeting rooms and all other communal areas of the College. The Department currently consist of 11 domestic cleaning staff and 5 cleaner/porters. The Housekeeping Manager will fulfil a crucial role within the Home Bursary Team and report directly to the Estates and H&S Manager. The Home Bursary Team is responsible for several areas of the College including Maintenance, Lodge, Accommodation, Grounds Maintenance, College Nursery, and Housekeeping.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all housekeeping services in the College, and for providing leadership and development for the Housekeeping Team. They will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies and will harmoniously cooperate with other College departments to ensure that all housekeeping needs are met in a professional and timely manner.
This is a full time post involving 37 hours per week usually worked from Monday to Friday. The salary is in the range from £27,891 to £32,704 per annum. Normally the first increment in the range is offered, however a higher salary might be offered commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience.
