The Technical Support Department Fashion and Textiles team (TSD F+T) supports students from across the school to develop their ideas in embroidery, fashion, knit, printed textiles and weave.

We are seeking a Pattern Cutting and Garment Construction Technician who will enjoy working in a creative and dynamic educational environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Fashion facilities in partnership with the other fashion technicians in the Reid Building, working as part of the TSD Fashion and Textiles team.

You will provide support to students working with pattern cutting and garment construction. You will support and maintain a welcoming and accessible community resource responsive to student needs while ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines and best practice.

You should be qualified to HND level or have equivalent experience in pattern cutting and garment construction including; specialist draping/bias techniques; creative flat pattern cutting; hand-crafted tailoring; three-dimensional realization methods with woven, non-woven, knitted, printed and embellished fabrics. You should be able to blend traditional hand-crafted production skills with current innovations.
