The University of York wishes to recruit a full-time, 21-month Research Associate to provide research assistance to Professor Nina Caspersen. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with expertise in one or more of the following research areas: conflict dynamics, conflict resolution, sovereignty. Extensive knowledge of de facto states, Nagorno Karabakh, Abkhazia, Northern Cyprus and/or Republika Srpska will be an advantage. Quantitative skills are a plus, but not essential
You will be assisting Prof Caspersen with her current research projects, including ‘Dynamics of de facto state patron-client relations’ (funded by the Norwegian Research Council) and ‘Federalism in Polarised Times’(funded by the James Madison Trust). You will also be involved in developing new research projects, including on sovereignty and conflict resolution. Fieldwork is not part of this role.
You will join a strong and vibrant postdoctoral community in the Department of Politics
