The School of Education invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Museum Education (Research & Teaching Track) at University of Glasgow. The School of Education is one of the leading Schools of Education globally, ranked No 38 in the QS for Education and Training (2021). We are a large and dynamic unit which brings together academics and researchers with expertise across all sectors of education: formal and non-formal, pre-school through to higher, adult and community education. We offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and CPD courses and you will actively contribute to delivering an excellent student experience through teaching, assessment and administration processes. Museum Education is a specialised field which aims to explore and maximise the use of museums, galleries and heritage sites to provide excellent learning experiences for visitors of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. The School of Education is one of only a small number of institutions worldwide that offer master’s degrees in museum education. We work closely with a range of international museum partners to provide a vital blend of theory and practice for students. Our growing portfolio now includes, MSc Museum Education (on campus) and MSc Museum Education (online distance learning), with the International master’s in education, Museums and Heritage currently in development.
The School is situated within the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) and we welcome applications from candidates keen to contribute to interdisciplinary research, scholarship and knowledge exchange across CoSS and University.
