The School of Law at the University of Warwick welcomes applications from outstanding early career researchers to the 2022 round of the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship Scheme, to start between 1 September 2022 and 1 May 2023. Early Career Fellowships aim to provide career development opportunities for those who are at a relatively early stage of their academic careers, but who have a proven record of research. The expectation is that Fellows should undertake a significant piece of publishable work (which should not be a reworking or extension of the doctoral research project) during their tenure, and that the Fellowships should lead to a more permanent academic position.

We welcome Expressions of Interest from outstanding early career researchers, who meet the eligibility criteria of the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship Scheme. Specifically, we seek candidates with an excellent academic record; a strong publications profile; and innovative and ambitious research ideas.

HOW TO APPLY

If you are interested in applying for a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship to be hosted by University of Warwick and you meet the necessary eligibility criteria, then please submit your Expressions of Interest as a single PDF document to Jennifer Paterson (j.c.wilson@warwick.ac.uk) by 4pm by Monday 3rd January 2022.

Expressions of Interest should consist of the following:

Curriculum Vitae (max. 2 pages) – including academic qualifications (with degree outcomes specified) and research record (publications, presentations, impact, research leadership if appropriate);

Outline research proposal (max. 2 pages) – indicating originality and contribution to the discipline, theoretical contexts, methods, resources and planned outputs.

Eligibility statement (max. 200 words) – confirm on what basis you are eligible for the 2022 scheme.

The Faculty of Social sciences has a limited number of applications that can be submitted to a maximum of five. The department will select our three strongest candidates by Wednesday 5th January who will be put forward to a faculty selection process which will be completed by Friday 21st January 2022. The successful candidates will then have just over a month to finalise their proposals before the Leverhulme Trust's deadline of 24th February 2022

Selection decisions will be communicated to applicants by 5th January 2022.

Selected candidates will be supported in developing their application for a Fellowship, leading up to the submission of applications to the Leverhulme Trust by the scheme deadline of 24 February 2022.

This  competition is very competitive, but the School of Law has an excellent recent record of supporting successful candidates and will prove support throughout.
