In support of the 2024 University College Dublin Strategic Plan 'Rising to the Future', UCD continues its ambitious plan to increase our faculty numbers by 500 over five years.

UCD School of Archaeology is Ireland’s leading centre for archaeological education and research. Our research, teaching and public engagement programmes, supported by our "UCD School of Archaeology Strategy 2020-2024", explore aspects of the archaeology, heritages and environments of Britain and Ireland, northwest Europe, the Mediterranean, east Africa and southeast Asia. The 2020 World University Subject Rankings place us within the top 100 Schools of Archaeology worldwide and first nationally.
Archaeology’s long perspective and interdisciplinary approaches allow our researchers to address the extraordinary diversity of human experience and knowledge past and present, and to tackle issues that are critical for the future. We have a thriving undergraduate, postgraduate taught, PhD and postdoctoral research community. Our globally-recognised Faculty utilize advances in digital technologies, archaeological materials analyses, and the environmental and archaeo! logical s ciences. Our School facilities, including laboratories and UCD Centre for Experimental Archaeology and Material Culture (CEAMC), support both active, experiential student learning and world-class research projects, as well as public and community engagement.

Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €55,397 - €87,724 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
