Summary:

Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

Do you have significant experience of working at a senior level in a large organisation? Do you have a commitment to enhancing the student experience and a track record of delivering high quality, customer-orientated services? Are you confident in developing and overseeing policy delivery? If so, you could be the candidate we are looking for.

As Deputy Director of Student Support Services you will lead services responsible for supporting the full academic journey of students at the University from enrolment and transition, through academic progression and personal development, right up to graduation. You will play a critical role in ensuring the embedding and developing of new systems delivering high volume student administration processes (part of an ongoing major IT project at the University). You will also lead on key policy areas affecting the student experience.

Working with senior academic leaders, the Director of Student Support Services, and senior stakeholders in the University’s five faculties and wider professional services, you will support realisation of the University’s vision and Learning and Teaching Strategy, with particular reference to Access and Participation and ensuring a safe, welcoming and inclusive campus for all.

This role provides opportunity for an experienced individual to lead a set of highly visible professional services teams whilst gaining a breadth of experience as Deputy to the Director of Student Support Services.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience. We want to remove barriers and attract a diverse applicant pool, and we are aware that some under-represented groups may be less likely to apply for jobs. With this in mind, we encourage all potential candidates to reflect on their strengths and experience in the broadest sense, including transferable skills where appropriate, when considering their suitability for the position. In all cases, we will select the best candidate for the role.
