Job description

King’s Business School (KBS) has experienced a rapid and exciting period of growth in its first three years as a faculty. In developing new markets for student recruitment and alumni activities, KBS has developed an ambitious scholarships strategy to attract high calibre, diverse students to our programmes.

This role has two areas of focus. First, it will implement a series of processes to deliver the implementation of scholarships at KBS. This will involve working with marketing, admissions, programme directors and others within the business school to create timelines and procedures that enable smooth management of the applications and awards. This element will require some degree of financial management and budget tracking.

The second area of focus is student-facing. The post holder will create a series of communications, events and occasions to celebrate our scholars and bring them together. The role will also gather testimonials from students about their time at KBS and ensure (working with the alumni team) that the School remains positively connected to its community of scholarship recipients.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, with specific abilities to plan and design processes. They will also have a flair for customer service and be creative in designing community building engagements for scholars. This role provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain a strong footing in several areas of external engagement activities.

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract

This is a part-time post - 50% full time equivalent

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver processes to award scholarships to KBS students; working with marketing, finance and admissions to do so.
  • Create and manage a timetable of scholarships activity throughout the year, ensuring that all key stakeholders have sight of relevant deadlines.
  • Support the selection process, working with the Head of External Engagement to manage the School’s Scholarships board.
  • Compile and produce data about each cycle of scholarships. This data (including financial information) will support future decision making.
  • To support (when required) the establishment of new scholarships, such as those provided by philanthropic donors.
  • To create, manage and deliver a series of scholarship engagements for recipients. This could include, but is not limited to: events, communications, photography, merchandise etc.
  • To gather testimonials from all recipients about their time at KBS and the value of the scholarship. To work with marketing, comms and alumni to share this content as appropriate.
  • To work with the KBS alumni team in tracking scholars post-graduation, ensuring they are well served by the KBS alumni offering, and remain engaged with the School’s activities.

The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.
