Aston University has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support the delivery of a project called Agri-tech Growth and Resources for Innovation (AGRI). This project is supporting small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) based within Shropshire, in the Marches Local Economic Partnership (LEP) area, to innovate in order to exploit growing market opportunities, particularly in agri-tech/agri-food. The project will also support other SMEs seeking to enter the agri-food supply chain. The role will be to support SMEs to innovate by utilising 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing technologies. The ability to both conduct independent research and to work effectively as a member of a team is essential.

You will join the world-renowned Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies and will be working at the cutting edge of the industrial applications of additive manufacturing technologies, using your 3D printing engineering expertise to develop prototype systems in collaboration with our photonics and engineering experts. This is an opportunity to become a member of a vibrant team with a successful project delivery track record. It is a particularly exciting time as the group is extending its research activities in a number of areas, including supporting the food and agri-tech industries.
